Nepenthes robcantleyi x hamata aka “Robmata” aka “Robham”
Asian Pitchers plant hybrids: Borneo Exotics Hybrid BE-3621
Highland: Hybrid of two highland nepenthes species
Nepenthes robcantleyi x hamata is a hybrid released by Borneo exotics in Sri Lanka. I got my bigger clone from California Carnivores around December 2014, and it has grown quite a bit in the last 15 months. This specimen has appears to be more N. robcantleyi dominate in apearance than most clones I have seen online and the clones that California Carnivores has kept as well. Many of the specimens that I have seen are more like my second smaller plant, N. hamata dominate in color and form. I purchased my second seedling from Native Exotics later on sometime in 2015. This clone has so far grown considerable slower than the other. I saw that BE had released multiple grex of these seedlings and so I don’t know if these two are the same exact cross.
Nepenthes robcantleyi x hamata Care Notes:
- Easy to moderate care depending on the specific seedling that you get. I suspect that in the future when TC clones are released they will be of the “easy care variety
- Rather rare and expensive currently $75 and up for a small plant if you can find one!
- There is variation in the different seedlings, and all I have seen are very interesting so far.
